Salt Dough Ornaments

Salt dough ornaments can be made into any shape or hold those precious little fingerprints.  Here are three different recipes to try.

Classic

Those awesome dough ornaments are at Mommy Gone Tropical.  Elizabeth has an easy recipe and a couple of cute stamps.  There are only 3 ingredients needed. Find it here.

Allergy-Friendly

If your family has any allergies but loves homemade ornaments check out Rebecca from Strength and Sunshine.  These ornaments are made of only 2 allergy-friendly ingredients and as an added bonus have a fantastic smell.  Look for her recipe here.

Sea Glass

If you’d like to make your salt dough ornaments even cooler try out Maggy’s idea from Red Ted Art.  You’ll need to check out her recipe it’s different because of the sea glass.  You can add other stuff too.

Snowflakes Ornaments

Who doesn’t love snow at Christmas time?  If you don’t have a white Christmas at least you can have a pile of beautiful snowflakes.

Popsicle Sticks and Buttons

Although snowflakes are usually made of paper in our house Maggy from Red Ted Art has a popsicle stick version.  You’ll need popsicle sticks, paint, glue, and white buttons.  Check out her pattern here.

Popsicle Sticks and Puzzle Pieces

Although I’m not a fan of glitter these snowflakes from Jennifer at A Dab of Glue Will Do are pretty and might be worth the mess.  You’ll need old puzzle pieces, popsicle sticks, paint, glue, and glitter.  Find her pattern here.

Pipe Cleaner Snowflakes

These snowflakes can be an ornament or just a decoration.  Whatever you decide to do with them you should take a closer look at Red Ted Art by Maggy.  All you’ll need are some beads and pipe cleaners.  You can make a pattern with different colors and shaped beads.  Here’s her pattern.

Ornament – Bell Wreath

For your musical child, this one is perfect.  Make a wreath ornament from Chrysa at Jinxy Kids.  You’ll need pipe cleaners, small bells, and ribbon.  Look for the pattern here.

Santa

If you have little kids there’s a good chance they believe in Santa or want to at least see Santa at some point this year.  Here are two Santa crafts.

Toilet Paper Roll Santa

Put your toilet paper rolls to good use with this incredibly cute and easy Santa from Rim at Curious and Geeks.  You’ll need some construction paper, pom poms, googly eyes, some cotton, with only a little cutting and lots of glue.  Her pattern is here.

Popsicle Stick Santa Hat

Whether you’re telling your little ones about Santa or not this hat is so easy.  You can make a bunch of these with little prep. Emily from Hunny I’m Home DIY uses construction paper, popsicle sticks, and cotton balls.  You will need some good glue to keep this one together so you might want the hot glue gun for this one.  Check it out.

Ornament – Rudolph Wooden

This super simple reindeer is made of wood.  Chrysa from Thrifty Jinxy made a cute Rudolph ornament.  It’s so simple, you’ll just need wooden circles, pom poms, mini clothespins, glue, ribbon, and googly eyes.  Take a look here.

Ornament – Popsicle Stick Manager

The manager Simple Mom Project from Kaitlen is the perfect addition to the tree.  You’ll need popsicle sticks, construction paper or foam, twine, and glue.  Get her pattern here.

Ornament – Wine Cork Snowman

With all of the family gathering, there’s bound to be a few wine corks lying around.  Try Ashley’s snowmen on A Modern Cinderella. You’ll need wine corks, paint, felt or foam, pipe cleaners, twine or ribbon, eye hooks, and glue.  Check this out here.

Ornament – Mickey Snow Globe

If your child is a Mickey mouse fan or you know one check out this one from Shari at Diary of A SoCal Mama.  This one is a little more complicated than some of the other ones.  You’ll need a few more things too. Check out her pattern here.  And if you’re not a fan of Mickey you can probably replace it with any other tiny figure.

Christmas Cards

One of my favorite parts about Christmas is the cards.  I absolutely love handmade cards. Try out these three ideas.

Popsicle Frame

This one is a perfect present for the grandparents.  Shari from Diary of a SoCal Mama has a great throwback craft that you may remember making as a kid.  Some paint, pom-poms, glue, and a picture for an easy gift in the form of a picture frame.  Here’s her version.

Christmas Tree

You know you need to make Christmas cards.  Another great one from Elizabeth at Mommy Gone Tropical.  All you need is some letter stamps, cardstock, paint, and pipe cleaners.  And you can make these super simple DIY Christmas tree cards. All you need to know here.

Finger Print Christmas Tree

A very simple craft from Jennifer at A Dab of Glue Will Do could be turned into a card when you’re done.   All you’ll need is a white paper, a colored paper, tape, and paint.  Find out what to do here.
