Sharing is caring!

The alphabet is the foundation of reading and writing. When teaching your child to read and write, start with the alphabet. You help them to identify the letters and their sounds. Then, you work on putting those letters together to form words. Finally, you move on to reading and writing sentences. The alphabet is a great place to start!

Letter A

A is for apple, ant, and alphabet. A is one of Aiden’s favorite letters. As the letter that starts his name, he picks it when I offer him a choice to study, write, or learn about. The picture below is an experiment we did one day outside eating some pizza. The question was how big is too big for one ant to carry. So we tore up the crust and watched the ants.

The letter A is the first letter of the alphabet.  Aiden learned this one first.  It was important to him because it started his name.

Short A sounds like ah

As a homeschooling mom, I know one of the homeschool essentials is a good-quality printer with cheap ink. Make sure you look at the cost of the ink before you buy. The printer price isn’t the price to worry about. We have an old one we bought about 10 years ago. Totally worth it. It doesn’t even have to have both print cartilages to print.
